Meet David,
David’s journey is as captivating as the destination. With roots in Massachusetts, his connection to the area began with childhood summers spent at the Cape, visiting his parents’ native land. Although fashion always intrigued David, his early dreams were fueled by a passion for aerospace engineering, inspired by his love for Star Wars and his self-proclaimed status as a “Trekkie.”
David immersed himself in the world of science, attending numerous Space Camps and participating in Science Fairs, all with the ambition of one day working for NASA. However, life took a turn when his family broke apart during his early teens. Channeling his frustrations into athletics, David dedicated himself to football, which eventually led him to specialize in sports during college. His career in Sports Nutrition and Athletic Training spanned several years before he retired in 2011.
A chance encounter at a hair show in 2012 sparked a new passion, leading David to enroll in Cosmetology School. He often shares that this industry, while the most challenging, has also been the most rewarding. Known for his unique ability to blend technical precision with creative flair, David jokes about the constant battle between these two aspects of his mind.
Today, David serves as the Creative Director and Chief Strategist for Calligraphy Cut North America and chairs the Resource Committee for Intercoiffure. His work has taken him around the globe, where he seizes every opportunity to learn from industry greats. David’s obsession with education fuels his continuous pursuit of excellence.
In his personal life, David enjoys driving his analytical mind crazy with his favorite hobby, golf. He is also a proud dog owner, sharing his life with a lively three-year-old German Shorthaired Pointer named Ezekiel.
Approaching every client as if it’s the first time he’s doing hair, David is dedicated to providing detailed consultations and finding solutions for every scenario. His favorite service, Calligraphy Cut, allows him to perform the impossible and help everyone feel their absolute best. Humble, passionate, and a natural teacher, David remains a beacon of inspiration in the industry.
