Meet Sarah

Sarah knew early on that the beauty industry was her calling — she just didn’t know it would start in a haunted house. At 15, she began her creative journey doing special effects makeup for Halloween attractions, turning fear into fascination with every brushstroke. From there, her path to cosmetology was set in motion, and by 2014, she was officially behind the chair — doing what she loves most.

We were introduced to Sarah through her sister, the manager of Pinup Studio in Raleigh, North Carolina. We met her sister during the Data Driven Salon Summit in Scottsdale — where both The Maven and The Muse and Pinup Studio were honored as part of the Salon Today 200. Sarah had grown up just two towns over from the salon and was still working in Massachusetts. When her sister made the introduction, it felt like everything aligned at exactly the right time.

Sarah brings balance to every room. She’s warm, grounded, effortlessly adaptable, and genuinely loves doing hair. Her specialties include lived-in color, natural curl work, and crafting soft, timeless styles for weddings and special occasions. Whether she’s blending tone, enhancing texture, or finishing a bridal look, Sarah’s favorite part is the same: seeing someone’s whole face light up when they look in the mirror.

She’s the kind of stylist who can chat about anything (and probably has a great playlist queued up), but when it comes to the work, she’s deeply focused on making you feel like the best version of yourself — relaxed, refreshed, and truly seen.

Outside the salon, Sarah’s an iced tea loyalist, an amateur plant whisperer, and a lover of crisp fall weather. She’s a stylist you’ll come back to for the hair — but stay for the connection.
